To apply for a dealers license...

The  business of selling cars at a location other than the location the dealership is licensed for  is known as "curb stoning".  Its illegal in most states.  

You'll need a place of business with a minimum of a one year lease.
A phone listed in the business name.
An exterior sign posting the name of business.
A filing cabinet and a desk.
A bond by a company licensed by the state.
A garage liability policy.
Some states require a state approved instruction class. A good policy in any state. There are many state and federal laws on the books regarding the car business and it's operation. You will need the above in order to apply for a dealers license in most states. This may vary. Check with the state office for the rules in the state you plan to conduct business. DMV.org

 Finally, you will need a computer, printer and software (Cars*Plus) to manage your accounts receivables.



Although, a computer may not be required by the state to obtain a license. It is necessary for your survival in the business.
